Timeless Fashion Staples That You Need in Your Wardrobe
Other than pumpkin spice lattes (PSLs) and running hot baths, there’s nothing I love more about fall than the fashion it inspires. For those lucky enough to experience the seasons’ change and the wardrobe changes that come with it, here are a few of my Fall staples that I couldn’t live without.
Long Dark Floral Dresses
The romantic dark floral prints are a perfect way to celebrate the beautiful foliage and colours that Fall brings. The florals add feminine and dainty detail to your look and remind us that a brighter season will eventually bloom.
Detailed Hosiery
The devil is in the details when it comes to polishing your outfit in subtle ways. I love to wear hosiery that not only adds a special touch to my looks but also keeps me warm on a crisp Fall day.
Statement Blazers & Turtlenecks
There’s nothing that a statement blazer can’t fix. Not as heavy as a coat, but layered enough to keep your shoulders warm. My favourite blazers are hands down Smythe– perfectly tailored blazers that last a lifetime. Oh, and also proudly Canadian!
Cowboy/ Knee-high Boots
Is there anything better than equestrian glam? My all-time favourite fashion boots are riding boots. Whether it’s fall, winter, spring, or summer– I wear knee-highs and riding boots throughout all seasons. They are easily my biggest fashion splurge when it comes to my wardrobe. If you are going to invest in some knee-highs, I suggest Weitzmans or checking out your local riding store for authentic riding boots!
Pussy Bow Blouses & Dior Mitzah Scarf
My current obsessions are pussy-bow blouses and little neck scarves. They add a je-ne-sais-quoi and French flair to any outfit. You can wrap the scarves around your neck, tie them around your wrist, or embellish your current tote. My favourites are the Dior’s Mitzah scarves!
A classic red nail polish manicure
Fall calls for red nails! No matter what outfit or colours you’re wearing, red nails work even if you would normally think they clash. Everyone should take a page out of Olivia Palermo’s book when it comes to accessorizing your look with an iconic red nail. Take it from OP, a red that you can’t go wrong with is Essie’s “Really Red”!
